Chiang Mai International Airport has cancelled 108 flights and adjusted the schedules of another 80 services ahead of the Yi Peng and Loy Krathong festivals. These changes will be in place from November 21 to 28, 2026, as the airport manages increased activity from the festivals, which are expected to bring 200,000 sky lanterns and smoke balloons into the area.
The adjustments are part of preparations for the annual events, which are major cultural attractions in northern Thailand. Airlines and passengers should be aware of the potential impact on travel plans during this period.
