Copenhagen Airport saw a 4% increase in passenger traffic in October, with 3.2 million passengers passing through the airport. This growth was attributed to school holidays in Denmark and Sweden, as well as the expansion of international routes.

Spain remained the top destination for passengers, with 280,000 people flying to 13 Spanish destinations, while the US was the leading long-haul destination, with 127,000 passengers. New York was the most popular US city, with one in three passengers flying to or from the city.

The airport plans to add new routes this winter, including flights to Mumbai, Krabi, Phuket, and Ilulissat. However, security delays in October caused by a regulatory order from Danish authorities led to long queues and missed flights for some passengers.

The airport said it underestimated staffing needs at security checkpoints, leading to delays on several days.
