Indian visa applicants in Bangladesh must now submit a new undertaking form as part of their application process. The requirement was announced on November 5 by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

The form must be filled out and uploaded with the online visa application, and only the officially prescribed format will be accepted. It requires applicants to state their name, purpose of visit, and confirm they reside within the jurisdiction of the High Commission in Dhaka.

Section 1 includes personal details such as name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, and current address in Dhaka. Section 2 asks applicants to specify the purpose of their visit, such as tourism, business, medical treatment or conferences.

Applicants must pledge to return to their home country after the visit and not overstay their visa. They must also commit to abide by Indian laws and cultural norms during their stay. The form must be signed by the applicant with their signature, place, and date. For minor applicants, both parents must sign the form.

Violation of the form's conditions may result in visa cancellation and affect future eligibility.
