A meeting is planned in Coimbatore to improve air cargo volume from the Coimbatore International Airport. This will be the first such meeting in six years and comes as part of efforts to boost the airport's export potential.

Fly Dubai has expressed interest in offering up to three chartered flights a week from Coimbatore, according to reports. Currently, most air exports from the region are routed through Kochi, Chennai, or Bengaluru. The Coimbatore International Airport is said to have significant export potential due to high cargo volume from Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Erode, and Nilgiris.

The next meeting of the committee will be held in February to continue discussions on improving air cargo operations from the airport.
