Nilgiri Mountain Railway services between Mettupalayam and Udhagamandalam remain cancelled until November 7, following landslides near Hillgrove triggered by heavy rain. Both the regular Mettupalayam–Udhagamandalam (56136) and return service (56137) on November 5, 6, 7 are suspended, as is the special train (06171) on November 6 and its return (06172) on November 7.

Track maintenance teams are clearing debris and repairing infrastructure despite difficult terrain and weather. Services have been affected since October 24 due to adverse weather and ongoing repair work, so passengers should plan alternative travel arrangements.
