On November 4, 2026, Pune Metro Line 3 launched and recorded 50,000 passenger journeys in its first day. The District Court station handled almost 25,000 of those rides, accounting for nearly half of total ridership.
The line connects Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar, and the District Court stop serves as a key interchange between Line 3 and the Purple and Aqua lines. Trains operated from day one despite Diwali holidays, with peak-hour headways set to drop to every five minutes.
Passengers also tried the National Common Mobility Card for the first time, using a single card across all Pune Metro services. The full trip between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar takes about 40 minutes; off-peak trains run every eight minutes.
PITCMRL officials project daily ridership of 2 lakh once office operations resume after the festive break. The corridor should benefit IT staff and other commuters, with numbers expected to climb in the next two weeks.
