Safran Landing Systems has expanded its manufacturing and MRO operations in Malaysia, with a new carbon brake centre in Nilai and an upgraded facility in Sendayan. The Sendayan expansion, costing €134 million, includes advanced manufacturing equipment and will double carbon brake disc production by 2028.

The site currently employs 160 people and adds 7,000 square metres of advanced manufacturing space, including a new textile line, carbonisation furnaces and state-of-the-art machining equipment.

The new MRO centre in Nilai, near Kuala Lumpur International Airport, is expected to support local and regional airline maintenance needs. It sits 20 kilometres from the Sendayan plant and represents an investment of €2 million.

These developments are part of Safran’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and meet growing aviation demand.
