TAAG Airlines has announced the resumption of its Luanda–Praia route after nearly ten years of inactivity. The service was confirmed on 28 October 2026 and will begin operations on 12 December 2026. Flights from Luanda will operate on Mondays and Saturdays, with return flights from Praia departing on Tuesdays and Sundays.

The route will use Airbus A220-300 aircraft, each carrying 137 passengers, including 12 in premium seats and 125 in economy. This new connection is expected to support tourism in both Angola and Cape Verde by offering more travel options between the two countries.

It may also encourage visitors to explore lesser-known destinations in Cape Verde, such as Praia and Santiago Island.

The restored service is part of a broader effort to improve air links within Africa and strengthen tourism in Portuguese-speaking African countries. A route to Senegal is also planned for 2027.
