UAE citizens and residents planning New Year 2026 trips must check updated entry requirements at several destinations.

Europe introduced a digital border registration system called EES on 10 April 2026, which will record data including facial images and fingerprints for non-EU nationals entering Schengen countries.

From 25 February 2026, Britain will require an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) for eligible visa-exempt visitors; the fee rose to £20 on 8 April 2026.

Thailand reduced visa-free stays for UAE passport holders from 60 to 30 days, effective September 2026. The country may inspect checked baggage without the passenger being present if suspicious items are detected and requires foreign travellers to complete a Digital Arrival Card three days before arrival.
