IRCTC has stepped up its crackdown on unauthorised e-catering websites and apps, warning passengers that using them can expose them to food safety problems, financial fraud and data theft.
Unauthorized platforms often source meals from unlicensed food outlets that fail to meet FSSAI regulations. They may employ untrained handlers and delivery staff who have not passed medical examinations, and they usually lack robust customer support or grievance-redressal mechanisms. In addition, such services can evade statutory tax obligations, undermining fair competition and regulatory compliance.
Passengers should order only through IRCTC's official e-Catering website, the Food on Track app or authorised partner platforms. Before sharing a PNR or payment details, verify that the platform is listed as authorised on the IRCTC e-Catering site or the Food on Track app.
IRCTC's e-catering offers a wide selection of meals, snacks and other food items. If you need assistance, call the helpline number 1323 to place an order.
