Air India is considering returning two office towers at its corporate office park in Gurugram as part of a broader cost-saving initiative. It currently uses four towers exclusively at the Vatika One on One campus and is reviewing work arrangements for employees affected by the potential reduction in office space.
The move follows the airline's decision to stop services to Copenhagen and Vienna, and to reduce frequency of flights to London Gatwick, Birmingham and San Francisco. Air India is rationalising its international network to contain expenditure.
The consolidation plan – merging key departments across Air India and Air India Express – was ratified by the board.
The airline's financial losses have continued to grow, with the group's consolidated net loss for Q1 FY27 reaching over ₹6,000 crore. This follows a consolidated loss of over ₹22,000 crore in FY26.
